At dsm-firmenich, for our Finance function in the finance region EMEA, we are looking for a Financial Controller responsible for DNP Europe AG.

As our Financial Controller you will have overall responsibility for the coordination, monitoring, reporting and analysis of the legal entity’s financial statements.

You will be responsible for implementing and supervising structured interactions with all relevant stakeholders: BG account manager, other financial control teams (CCS, OCS, TP), Financial Shared Services, internal and external auditors and when applicable: Lead Management Accountant and Business Partner (e.g. for Service Units).

Your key responsibilities:

You will be a single point of contact for a specific legal entity covering the following tasks/ responsibilities:

Finance Actuals and Closing

  • Ensures delivery and execution of the finance actuals, closing and reporting activities for the assigned reporting unit(s)

  • Performs a sanity check of the P&L and coordinates variances analysis compared to the actuals (e.g. prior month, quarter, or run-rate)

  • Ensures integrity of financial Statements and management reports in accordance with dsm-firmenich Accounting Rules, international and local statutory accounting standards.

  • Performs Balance Sheet monitoring, incl. financial variance analysis and understanding of open items

  • Reviews integrity and quality of all sub ledgers (incl. balance reconciliation)

  • Coordinates supporting documentation on accruals, provisions and special items

  • Monitors the financial closing process

  • Defines and follows up on mitigation actions in case of issues during the closing in order to ensure correct and complete actuals and meet defined deadlines

  • Drives the monthly evaluation meeting and follows up on occurred issues and defined improvements actions

    Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Supports the business with the setting up of the budget and forecast cycles

    Finance Reporting

  • Provides reports for Provisions/Accruals

  • Supports Management Reporting, Monthly Reporting Deck Forecast/Actuals and Cashflow

  • Ensures integrity of data used in management reports related to the legal entity

    Internal Control and Auditing

  • Ensures compliance with dsm-firmenich internal control requirements

  • Monitors the internal control framework on a monthly basis and follows up on remediation plans

  • Acts as Single point of contact for all internal and external audits

  • Follows up on financial audit findings

  • Ensures that assets and liabilities are correctly and completely recognized

    You bring:

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in accounting/ financial Controlling, and/or licensed certified public accountant

  • 5 years plus of experience in Accounting/ Controlling

  • Knowledge and experience in a Shared Service environment

  • In-depth understanding of Finance and Accounting processes

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of ERP systems (SAPR3)

  • Knowledge of Cfin and SAP GR will be an advantage

  • Fluent English language skills both verbal and written
