Join our dynamic team as an Employment and Transition Specialist (ETS), where you'll have the unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in people's lives. As the ETS, you'll be the superhero of job seekers, connecting them with individualized employment and volunteer opportunities and providing the support they need to succeed.

What You'll Bring:

In the Employment and Transition Specialist role, you'll coordinate pre-employment transition services for students with disabilities, including reaching out to high schools to identify eligible students, coordinating with DVR counselors to ensure completion of the necessary paperwork, developing and providing reports to DVR staff, and handling invoicing and billing. Additionally, the Employment and Transition Specialist involves developing and implementing instruction for self-advocacy, work readiness training, job exploration counseling, and post-secondary education options. It also includes developing community partnerships, ensuring contract compliance, and collaborating with DVR staff. Furthermore, the position supports the delivery of developmental disabilities discovery career planning and individual employment services programs by writing personal profiles, conducting discovery activities, providing supervision and coaching to Direct Support Professionals, and offering job development and coaching for participants seeking competitive employment.

As an Employment and Transition Specialist, you'll be involved in various tasks. These include providing or supporting job coaching, developing and providing trial work experiences, ensuring timely intake, service delivery, and report writing. You'll also be responsible for maintaining all Full Life properties in an organized, clean, and working order and ensuring quality care for the persons served. This role requires a diverse set of skills and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities.

The Employment and Transition Specialist position encompasses business networking and community resource development, such as working in partnership with employers and business services to increase job opportunities for persons with disabilities, conducting informational interviews and negotiations with employers, educating community and civic agencies on program goals and services, and serving as a liaison with participant representatives and community providers. It also involves increasing and improving participant involvement, troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise, and coordinating public and private transportation for participants and staff as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school is required. A degree in a related field is preferred.
    • If a bachelor's degree is outside of the Human Services or Education fields of study, one year of verifiable experience working with persons with disabilities is required.
  • Current TB clearance;
  • Current CPR and First Aid clearance,
  • No history/conviction of abuse, neglect, theft, or other job-related crimes;
  • Must meet Full Life requirements for drug test and criminal background/records check;
  • Valid health certificate to meet current funding jurisdiction requirements; and
  • A valid state-issued driver's license with valid automobile insurance is required.

We offer a highly competitive salary range for our employees. This role is a part-time position in our Kailua-Kona office, and the starting salary is 45-50K per year, depending on experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with some occasional weekend support from about 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We also offer incentives for completing and maintaining annual training requirements, demonstrating our commitment to supporting our team's growth and success.
