Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Highway Heavy Civil Construction Estimator to join our team. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, analyzing project requirements and specifications, and ensuring that all estimates are completed thoroughly and on time. S.M. Hentges & Sons is a civil general contractor that self performs earthwork, utilities, bridges, concrete and asphalt. Responsibilities: Analyze project requirements and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects. Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents to identify materials, labor, equipment and subcontractor requirements. Identify risks in the estimates and prepare solutions for the risks Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop accurate estimates and proposals. Utilize B2W software and tools to develop bid estimates and manage cost estimates. Conduct site visits and inspections to gather information on project requirements and existing conditions. Review and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that they are competitive and meet project specifications. Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that estimates are accurate and up-to-date. Prepare and submit detailed cost estimates and proposals to clients in a timely and professional manner. Monitor project budgets and adjust estimates as needed to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
