Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineer in Johnstown, Pennsylvania

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Level 2) in Johnstown, PA. In this role, you will provide hands-on production floor support, focusing on improving manufacturing processes, reducing defects, and optimizing costs for the F-35, F-16, and C-130 sub-assemblies.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Support Production Operations – Improve sub-assembly build processes, eliminate repetitive defects, and drive out unnecessary costs to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Develop and Modify Manufacturing Plans – Interpret engineering blueprints and apply engineering concepts to support production and prototype articles.

Investigate and Resolve Non-Conformances – Conduct root cause analysis, develop corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.

Optimize Machining Strategies – Identify CNC mills, lathes, and machining processes to manufacture precision components efficiently.

Enhance Production Sequences – Use engineering models and designs to determine optimal assembly sequences and manufacturing approaches.

Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams – Work closely with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams to implement innovative solutions and enhance production efficiency.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with Manufacturing / Assembly / Production processes

• Detailed-oriented due to the complexity of mechanical assemblies

• Ability to read & interpret drawing requirements

• Microsoft Office suite experience with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing &/or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college

• Manufacturing Engineering experience with fabrication and assembly in a production environment

• Demonstrated problem solving skills to drive issues to closure, develop workaround plans &/or corrective action plans

• Excellent verbal/written communications skills

• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks

• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment or independently to solve problems in a timely manner.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
