Summary: Provides direct day-to-day care of patients and families. Practices to the fullest extent of his/her license in accordance with organizational policies. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, functions as a member of the Patient Care Team to implement the patients' plan of care. Provides population specific care to meet the developmental needs of those patients we serve. The nurse, in conjunction with the Nurse Manager, participates in performance excellence initiatives that are focused on improving patient care and outcomes.
This program is designed to provide a foundation of practice for the new Critical Care nurse.
You will be fully paid as you attend this 22-week program.
The program includes an online Critical Care Course, ACLS and PALS certification, APEX training and specialized Critical Care Workshops, Trauma Nurse Course integrated with a preceptor-guided clinical learning experience.
Medical-Surgical RN's. Graduation from a program for professional nurses, one year experience or less, letter of recommendation from Nurse Manager, satisfactory performance appraisal, no performance improvement actions over the past 12 months, commitment to work at Memorial Medical Center Emergency Department for 24 months after completing internship.
Graduate Nurses: Enrolled in a program for professional nurses; GPA 3.0 or higher, letter of recommendation from School of Nursing Critical Care /Ed instructor, Graduate Nurse Summary and a commitment to work at Memorial Medical Center Emergency Department for 24 months after competing internship.
