Johnston Community School District Head Varsity Softball Coach in Johnston, Iowa
JOB SUMMARY: Promote a fundamentally sound athletic program with emphasis on physical and skill development of the individual and to encourage a positive attitude toward fair play and sportsmanship.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or K-12 Athletic Coach endorsement

Check out equipment one (1) week prior to the first practice as determined by the IGHSAU starting date regulation.
Provide orientation training and supervision of softball coaches.
Assume responsibility for all softball equipment in grades 8 - 12 to include purchase cleaning and repair of equipment.
Submit a final inventory of all- equipment to the Athletic Director annually at the end of the softball season.
Make all contacts with the news media as to pre-season reports game results and statistics and the final season records and statistics in both conference and non-conference.
Assume responsibility for facilities used during practices including dressing facilities and make supervision assignments among the softball staff.
Submit all non-school day practice schedules to the Athletic Director.
Coordinate practice and game areas scheduling practice limes and responsibilities with other staff members and the Athletic Director.
Provide squad lists and program information to the Athletic Director at the beginning of the season
Complete an "End of the Season" report form to be furnished by the Athletic Director at the end of the season.
Assume responsibility for all equipment needed by coaches and players on game days.
Be responsible for supervision of players' conduct during pre and post-game times while in the building and dressing facilities.
Submit transportation requests to the Athletic Director prior to the first practice of the season.
Plan and supervise all season conditioning programs in conjunction with the other head coaches and the Athletic Director.
Attend all meetings called by the Athletic Director and disseminate pertinent information to assistant coaches.
Perform other tasks and assume responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Will be involved in the selection process of assistant coaches.
