Eligible for $2000 hiring bonus! Responsible for the day to day oversight of the Day Habilitation service. Day Hab is a service where young adults with special needs attend M-F from 9a-3p to work on daily living goals that will increase their independence. Also provides some supervision for those young adults receiving individual respite and supported community living services.

When You'll Work

Full-time with some variable hours. Responsible for on-call duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

  • Enroll young adults for day habilitation services.

  • Develop goals for participants and communicate with participant’s care team.

  • Provide planning and oversight of day hab services.

  • Hire, train, and supervise day hab staff.

  • Enroll children/young adults eligible for respite and oversee their services and supervision of their staff.

  • Participate on care team to assure all children/young adults have current individualized care plans.

  • Schedule, verify, and monitor utilization of respite/day hab services as authorized.

  • Develop and ensure accuracy of child/young adult files.

  • Effectively manage family feedback.

  • Complete quality assurance audits and observations.

  • Assure individual staff performance is consistently evaluated.

  • Ensures onboarding and ongoing support leads to retention of qualified staff.

    What You’ll Need

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of one year of supervisory experience or the equivalent combination of related experience and education.

  • Preferred: One year experience working with children/young adults with special healthcare needs.

  • Ability to lead teams and promote the concept of team approach, ability to hold people accountable, and develop their abilities to perform job responsibilities.

  • Must have a current valid Iowa Driver's license for at least three consecutive years with less than three moving violations in the prior three years.

  • Must meet the requirements to be trained as a Lifting Champion.

  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively through reading, writing and speaking the English language
