Amazon Sr. Software Dev Engineer, Finance Technology in Jersey City, New Jersey

Are you looking for ways to invent newer and simpler ways of building solutions? If so, we are looking for you to fill a challenging position in Amazon Finance Technology team.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us create the next generation of distributed and scalable financial systems. Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys the challenge of highly complex business contexts that are typically being defined in real-time.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Amazon FinTech, you will help shape the technical strategy and design for financial data reconciliations across systems that span organizational boundaries. This is a complex problem space that requires deep technical expertise combined with the ability to influence and drive technical decisions across multiple teams.

You will decide where rule based systems should be designed and where machine learning models should be used and drive their design and development. You will drive innovation to reduce manual effort. You will have a high bar for quality and build systems that are secure and globally scalable.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Jersey City, NJ, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
