JPMorgan Chase Software Engineer Lead - Observability and Diagnostics in Jersey City, New Jersey

As an experienced Software Engineer you will be responsible for defining and delivering the core suite of telemetry, observability, and automation capabilities to support operation of our most critical systems. You will work collaboratively across all business lines to create a fully integrated, highly opinionated, consistent, and customer-driven observability and telemetry ecosystem, based upon industry leading, CNCF technologies. You'll engineer solutions to proactively optimize performance, resolve issues quickly, prevent issue reoccurrence, and measure achievement against business outcomes, embedding the concerns of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) natively into our most critical products as we modernize our estate migrating solutions to both public and private cloud.

Required Skills:

  • 7-15 years of software development experience

  • Experience working with cloud platforms and micro-services

  • Strong hands on experience in any of the programming languages preferably on Java/Python

  • Experience building and/or configuring metrics, distributed tracing, and logging systems, preferably using CNCF technologies and standards (Prometheus, Jaeger, etc.)

  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, able to apply prior experience toward ill-defined problems

  • Experience designing, developing, deploying PaaS and IaaS environments

  • Experience in scripting languages like python /Bash /Groovy

  • Experience in platform/system integration

  • Exposure to SDLC Tools/Platform /Apis

  • Experience with modern agile software delivery practices such as Scrum / Agile, CI/CD , TDD, DevSecOps, and automation

  • Strong Communication skills - Proven ability to effectively influence, mentor and communicate at multiple levels
