The Position

The role must be primarily based in the Jersey City, NJ office with accessibility to the Plymouth Meeting, PA office on occasion (up to 15% of in-office days at Plymouth Meeting, PA office may be required).

Organon practices in-office “Anchor” Wednesdays with remote work eligible for the remainder of the week if desired. The role must be capable of working in the Jersey City, NJ office on Wednesdays and can spend up to 40% of in-office time at Plymouth Meeting, PA office if desired.

The role serves as support for US Distribution & Logistics activities and will report into the Associate Director of Distribution & Logistics Operations. The Senior Specialist is responsible for a broad set of Relationship Management and/or Purchase Order ownership activities related to Freight Bill Payment, Distribution Supplies Management, Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Services, State Licensing Compliance Support and Bond Payment/Processing. The role will become a Designated Representative for State Licensing and own the relationship with many service providers that support business continuity for US supply chain operations. The role will also provide secondary support of operational excellence for the US imports, exports and domestic distribution desks. This role will also mentor and assist in the on-board of entry level specialists in the Distribution & Logistics Operations space.

Responsibilities

  • Own the key purchase orders that support business continuity of the US Distribution & Logistics Operations and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders.

  • Facilitate timely procurement, receipt, and payment to business-critical goods and services.

  • Be the primary contact for the Freight Bill Payment and Audit activity in support of carrier and forwarder payment, including reconciliation of late payment and invoice differences.

  • Process and analyze monthly transportation invoices for accruals and impactful trends in data.

  • Own the State Licensing Program to maintain compliance and enable uninterrupted distribution throughout the US.

  • Support the training and on-boarding of entry level specialists in the space.

  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, financing activities and provide insight into appropriate business risks and opportunities on on-going basis.

  • Serve as an SAP subject matter expert for the organization.

  • Help maintain stable distribution of product to customers and leverage business knowledge and financial expertise to identify risks and opportunities for the business.

  • Provide back-up support for import operations (such as packet review and approval), export operations (such as export processing in SAP) and domestic commercial distribution (such as inventory reconciliation/management, order processing support with 3PL or correction in SAP).

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external customers to ensure best in class supply and customer satisfaction.

  • Support operational improvements which are consistent with departmental and/or Organon’s continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering or analytical Business field. An MBA is preferred.

  • Must qualify to be a Designated Representative per the following: the prior three years of experience must be in paid roles related to the distribution or dispensing of prescription drugs in a licensed pharmacy, drug wholesaler, drug distributor or drug manufacturer.

  • Prior experience as a Designated Responsible Person for State Licensing is preferred.

  • At least three years of experience is required with greater than five years preferred.

  • Familiarity with SAP systems is required. Expertise in Materials Management, Sales & Distribution or Global Trade Services is preferred.

  • Candidate must possess excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Formulas, Lookup Functions) are required.

  • Experience with Business Intelligence Software (PowerBI or Tableau) is preferred.

  • Preferred certificates include APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) and/or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.

  • Experience working in cross functional teams to solve complex high stakes problems is required.

  • The ability to work independently without direct supervision, perform well in a dynamic environment and handle several tasks simultaneously is required.

  • The ability to effectively take on leadership roles and pitch to senior management is preferred.

  • The position must be based at Jersey City, NJ office and be commutable to Plymouth Meeting, PA office as needed.

  • The role may require up to 10% domestic travel.

The applicable salary range for this position in the U.S. is stated below. Annualized Salary Range (US)

$92,400.00 - $157,100.00
