The Global Sourcing & Sustainability (GSS) team is helping to build and maintain a sustainable and resilient supplier base for MTPA by ensuring that environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards and effective risk and resilience management are built into relevant processes and accepted by suppliers to support our purpose of “Bringing Hope to All Those Facing Illness”. The Senior Manager, Supplier Sustainability and Resilience will develop and implement sourcing and risk management strategies that align with MTPA’s sustainability goals, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Develop and lead MTPA’s supplier resilience and sustainability strategy, aligning it with corporate goals. Identify and drive initiatives to reduce environmental impact, enhance ethical sourcing, promote social responsibility, and protect supply chain resilience.
Develop and implement responsible sourcing policies and procedures to ensure suppliers' compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements pertinent to supply chain environmental, human rights and fair labor practices. Embed ESG into contract standards.
Conduct sustainability and resilience risk assessments within the supply base, identifying and mitigating environmental, social, and governance risks. Develop strategies to ensure resilience and responsible sourcing. Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with ethical and environmental standards.
Collaborate with suppliers to promote sustainable practices, including carbon reduction, waste management, and fair labor practices. Assess and develop suppliers' sustainability capabilities, partnering with them to meet our sustainability standards.
Track and measure supplier performance against risk, resilience and sustainability metrics.
Prepare dashboards and regular reports on progress, highlighting areas for improvement and recommending actions to achieve targets.
Evaluate suppliers nearing contract term and, where necessary, identify alternatives if current supplier has not met MTPA criteria.
Lead sustainability training and awareness initiatives within the GSS team and across the organization to foster a culture of responsible and resilient sourcing.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (required)
Procurement (e.g., CPSM, MCIPS), ESG (e.g., GRI) or Risk Management (e.g., RIMS) certifications (preferred)
5+ years of experience in supplier risk, resilience or sustainable procurement roles, ideally within the life sciences sector, with a focus on ESG and responsible sourcing.
Experience creating dashboards, reports, and presentations that convey data effectively to inform strategy and decision-making.
Experience setting targets, identifying KPIs, and developing systems for tracking progress.
Proven experience in managing cross-functional projects and initiatives, including stakeholder management, planning, and execution.
Knowledge of sustainable procurement frameworks (e.g., ISO 20400), supplier risk management, and environmental assessment tools. Proficiency in ERP/finance software (e.g., SAP) and ESG data analysis tools.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce actionable insights for sustainability and resilience initiatives.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage both internal and external stakeholders effectively.
High level of organizational skills with the ability to operate autonomously, prioritize tasks and manage time.
Strong project management skills including the ability to direct multiple topics simultaneously.
Demonstrable working knowledge in supplier risk management, supplier due diligence and assurance activities and supplier risk management including reporting and measurement, from a similar or comparable organization.
Strong understanding of the principles of risk management, control, and assurance, including, but not limited to, data privacy, information security, financial risk management, ESG, modern slavery, business continuity, etc.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $165,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
This position is eligible to participate in our annual Short-Term Incentive (STI) program. Specific information about the plan including eligibility rules and target, will be furnished upon hire.
