As a Senior Product Associate in Global Clearing, you contribute to the team by leveraging your expertise in product development and optimization to make a significant impact, supported by user research and customer feedback to fuel the creation of innovative products and continuously improve existing offerings. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products and ongoing success.
Within the Payments Product Management organization, you are part of a team that drives the growth and profitability of the business, scaling and integrating payment platforms for the Commercial & Investment Bank Line of Business. The team is responsible for defining product strategy, driving the product roadmap, segmenting clients, packaging solutions, determining end-to-end delivery strategies, managing product launches, and empowering sales teams. This business, generating over $1 billion in revenue, consistently ranks #1 in the industry and stands as the largest fee-generating entity in payments.
Job responsibilities
Partners with the Product Manager to identify new product opportunities that reflect the needs of our customers and the market through user research and discovery
Considers and plans for upstream and downstream implications of new product features on the overall product experience
Supports the collection of user research, journey mapping, and market analysis to inform the strategic product roadmap and provide insight on potential product features that provide value to customers
Analyzes, tracks, and evaluates product metrics including work to time, cost, and quality targets across the product development life cycle
Writes the requirements, epics, and user stories to support product development
Collaborate with clients and internal teams, such as Sales and Product, to strategically define and configure optimal solutions that meet clients' needs and objectives, while supporting innovation within the Clearing business.
Construct pricing proposals and value analysis reports to demonstrate product benefits, and deliver compelling oral and written presentations, including building sales decks and training collateral.
Identify, evaluate, and prioritize white space and tactical product investment opportunities through extensive analysis of the value chain, external forces, and competitive landscape, providing recommendations on learn, build, and buy strategies.
Evaluate external trends in payments, industry verticals, and technology disruptions to identify emerging opportunities, and lead client, sales, and industry workshops to assess unique industry workflow needs and evolving client requirements.
Support new product innovation, including subscription-based pricing and new/alternative payment rails such as Partior and APIs, while creating a commercialization process to track and report on the productivity of product development and investments.
Establish forums for coordination across the Product Solutions team to ensure successful solution configuration, and lead the development and execution of product strategies that ensure compliance with the Dodd-Frank Reg E.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area
Proficient knowledge of the product development life cycle
Experience in product life cycle activities including discovery and requirements definition
Developing knowledge of data analytics and data literacy
Proven experience working in a highly matrixed and complex organization, with the ability to effectively navigate and influence change as a passionate change agent.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, using these tools to produce compelling presentations and reports that align with strategic initiatives.
A strategic thinker capable of transforming abstract ideas into actionable plans, leveraging advanced analytical models to derive insights from large data sets.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external partners, acting as a client advocate and ensuring client satisfaction across all touchpoints.
Possess a deep understanding of commercial clients and their emerging needs, delivering tailored solutions and maintaining a strong focus on relationship building to delight clients.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience in consulting or product strategy, with a focus on developing and executing strategic initiatives.
Expertise in payments, possessing a well-informed perspective on the future of the industry, supported by experience, and thought leadership.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to process and interpret large data sets, transforming them into actionable insights and compelling narratives.
Proficiency in data science, SQL, or coding, enabling effective data analysis and problem-solving.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of engaging and persuading stakeholders at all levels of the organization to drive success.
