Tier-3 Engineering is the frontline of the Change Healthcare Cardiology Tactical Engineering group. Tier-3 Engineers deliver effective technical support by delivering solutions to both technical and clinical end-users while also supporting a wide range of technologies. You will be the point of escalation for advanced technical support issues escalated by our T1/T2 Support and Services departments and will work towards researching and resolving ongoing technical issues with the Change Healthcare Cardiology medical systems at live customer hospitals. As a Tier-3 Engineer, you will not only work towards resolving issues at customer live sites, but also be responsible to work together with Development, QA, Product Management, and Regulation groups to assess and execute required advanced activities on the overall product line.

You will be responsible to investigate the most complex system and application issues related to our product backend modules, in addition to non-application related issues in the following domains: Network, Topology, Servers, Hardware, Clients, Windows Operating Systems, IT, Domains management, Performance, Storage and SQL.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership of advanced technical issues (Tier-3 Engineering level), and working with the Development groups until they are resolved

  • Manage high-priority escalations with internal and external stakeholders

  • Taking ownership of advanced technical issues and engaging Development groups per need

  • Working with the customer's (hospitals) IT/System/Application teams to co-investigate issues at their sites

  • Working with PM on design issues and enhancements requests

  • Working with QA to reproduce issues

  • Assuring defects are being documented and processed

  • Writing troubleshooting and resolution steps Knowledge Base articles

  • Delivering knowledge and training sessions to Support/Services/Distributors teams

  • Participate in Engineering strategic projects (i.e. Beta Projects)

  • Become an SME (subject matter expert) for specific modules

  • Travel to customer's sites to resolve critical escalations or to escort services in implementing a new process/product

  • Last-minute travel up to 20% is required to provide on-site support (including travel to Israel twice a year)

  • Perform on-call shifts (Between 3-7 days every 8 weeks, including weekends)

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (or higher)

  • 5+ years experience providing technical support to product support teams, field engineers, and technicians

  • 3+ years work experience with Change Healthcare Cardiology CPACS Products including, HL7, DICOM processing, and PACS/RIS/HIS systems

  • 2+ years of IT experience – AD, Network Troubleshooting, Windows servers, FWs, etc.

  • 2+ years of experience with SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in diagnosing and troubleshooting software and/or customer service on computer systems.

  • Experience with Storage (SAN, NAS) and Images Archive

  • Familiarity with API, reading XML and JSON files

  • Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, and reproducing issues in a lab environment

California, Colorado, Nevada, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Hawaii, Washington, or Washington D.C Residents Only : The hourly range for California, Colorado, Nevada, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Hawaii, Washington, or Washington D.C residents is $33.75 to $66.25 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
