In this role, reporting to the Head of Enterprise Data Governance, the Enterprise Data Steward is responsible for implementing and sustaining the Enterprise Data Governance framework across the Lines of Business (LOB). This individual will ensure BBH is defining, managing, and governing enterprise data to help achieve business strategic goals. The Enterprise Data Steward will lead the LOB in developing strong data quality monitoring and governance practices to comply with regulatory and compliance matters while ensuring effective and efficient servicing of our clients.Some of your key responsibilities include:- Manage the creation of standards and procedures aligned to the Enterprise Data Governance Policy and implement within the LOBs- Serve as a primary point of contact within EDGO for day-to-day operationalizing of all LOB data governance matters- Lead programs and working groups for LOB's to build accountability in defining, measuring, and monitoring the firms' data, starting with critical data elements- Provide subject matter expertise and industry best practices in coaching and overseeing compliance of the Enterprise Data Governance program across the firm- Develop and deliver Enterprise Data Governance program education, awareness, and mentoring- Work with LOBs to create prioritized execution plans to pursue continuous improvement in LOB Data Governance maturity levels- Problem solving and managing through challenges by bringing together people, process, and technology- Facilitate and own enterprise data governance metrics, including collecting, measuring, and delivering LOB metrics in a sustainable manner- Assist Business Data Stewards and Data Owners in creating and defining data quality metrics for periodic release at both the enterprise and LOB levels to show quality and exhibit continuous improvement- Conducting reviews to ensure that policies, procedures, responsibilities, and metrics are in place and utilized at the LOB level for maintaining/improving the programData Governance- Inform and influence LOBs on the value of data governance roles and responsibilities in a sustainable manner, including the identification and training of Data Owners, Business Data Stewards, and Data Custodians- Collaborate with business and technology leaders on people, process, and technology planning activities driving data governance across the enterprise- Subject matter expert and industry leader in data governance regulatory and compliance matters through continuous learning and knowledge buildingLeadership- Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports as necessary, assisting with the development of technical job functions as well as continual development and growth within the organization to benefit boththe employees and the firm. Provide leadership and guidance at LOB Forums on matters related to data governance- Provide program updates to senior level committees on a regular basisCommunication- Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships within the EDGO and the LOB business leaders and staff to ensure goals and initiatives, along with successes and failures, are clearly communicated and documentedDesired Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree and or relevant experience in financial services- 10+ years managing processes and people within financial services including custody, fund administration, Investment Management and Banking- Experience in establishing and leading new initiatives/efforts, specifically in the data governance area (a plus)- Certifications, experience and/ or training related to industry data governance (a plus)- Passionate about Data Governance activities- Strong Program Management skills- Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization- Ability to provide and implement innovative and forward-thinking solutions and tools to achieve goals and strategies- Experience in dealing with ambiguity/unstructured problems, simplifying complex problems, ability to use risk based decisioning frameworks, and influencing teams and stakeholders- Ability to resolve complex issues independently and escalate to leadership as needed- Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment- Proven presentation and interpersonal skillsSalary Range$160,000 - $190,000 Jersey City, NJ*BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
