Collectively, we build and support the infrastructure that enables the day-to-day operations of Lord Abbett. The Data Integrity team is a critical function for the firm and placed in the Digital Services/Investment Data Integrity department. The mission of the Data Integrity team is to ensure secure availability of accurate data in all applications. This includes (i) proactive identification and resolution of data issues (ii) defining data requirements for our strategic initiatives (iii) external data management.
The Senior Business Analyst on the Data Integrity team is an experienced financial professional with a background in security reference data, risk analytics, and/or data management in asset management firms. We are seeking a highly motivated, self-sufficient individual who is passionate about data analysis, business analysis, issue resolution and management. This person will work collaboratively with our Investment organization (Portfolio managers and traders) to ensure data is accurately maintained across key applications. This person will proactively research data anomalies, identify systematic issues, immediately resolve problems, and structure plans to improve processing, sourcing, and quality controls. This person will also work with Technology to automate key data integrations to eliminate manual processes. This person will also participate in key complex strategic initiatives to drive the plan forward from a data perspective.
Business analysis, Data analysis and identification of anomalies, making recommendations for automatic identification and remediation of data issues
Data reporting to business teams and making recommendations for automating reporting needs
Work with investors to understand data issues faced across various internal applications
Perform research to find information required to complete set up or correct parameters that cause the incorrect computation of data
Participate in strategic data projects and the assessment of analytic tools to determine development requirements of existing systems or potential externally developed solutions
Assess market data vendor services to identify the best solution to meet our business needs
Mentor business analysts on the team while defining a high standard for the role across the organization
Good understanding of security master data with experience in fixed income instruments
Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems – highly research oriented and enjoy problem solving and troubleshooting
Perform research to find information required to complete set up or correct parameters that cause the incorrect setup of securities in internal applications
Assist portfolio managers, traders, quantitative research on solving complex data issues
Strong communication skills, exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills; Intellectually curious
Ability to understand business logic of developed applications by collaborating with Business, Technology and other key stakeholders
Ability to then analyze and interpret data in these applications, to draw conclusions on data issues and develop actionable recommendations
Highly self-motivated, ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Create Data integrity requirements for development
Create a daily process for review and resolution of data issues; Capable of defining processes for offshore team, manage SLA and escalation protocol
Well-developed interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Expertise with MS Excel
At least 7-15 years of relevant experience with background in fixed income, investment management, data analysis, or middle office experience from a buy-side or sell-side firm or an index provider
Demonstrated experience building/improving data management processes and analytical systems
• Bachelor’s degree within finance or a quantitative field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred
