Your Role
As a Global Account Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and securing business opportunities for selected Global Accounts, ensuring alignment with our Contract Logistics vertical strategy. In this role, you’ll define and develop growth strategies for these accounts, ensuring proactive management and support for business retention within the customer portfolio. Additionally, you will actively participate in product development and relevant quality and regulatory work-streams, contributing to the overall success of the assigned Global Accounts. Your strategic insights and collaborative approach will be key in driving the growth and development of these crucial partnerships.
Your Responsibilities
Support the Global Head of Contract Logistics Customer Development Vertical in defining and aligning the strategy with relevant Kuehne+Nagel stakeholders within the Consumer vertical.
Act as the main point of contact and interface for selected Global Accounts. This involves taking overall ownership of the account, including identifying, developing, defining, negotiating, and signing contracts.
Develop a deep understanding of the customer's organizational structure, decision-making process, business model, and competitive landscape.
Collaborate closely with the Global Operations Support team to define and implement product development strategies that meet customer and business demands. Regularly review the product offering to ensure it aligns with industry needs.
Coordinate new business opportunities in accordance with the agreed Responsibility Assignment Matrix, steer global and cross-border projects, provide Request for Quotation visibility, and act as the global point of entry for these initiatives.
Assist in the development of other accounts (National Accounts) within the relevant countries, following the agreed Responsibility Assignment Matrix guidelines.
Support countries by sharing knowledge and best practices, promoting operational excellence, profitability, and business development.
Establish and oversee governance structures for operational excellence. Regularly review the product offering against industry demands and drive continuous improvement projects.
Organize and host service-related business development workshops with country and regional business development teams to foster collaboration and drive innovation.
Manage daily communication with various sites, drive continuous improvement initiatives, prepare and lead customer meetings, standardize global processes including Key Performance Indicators, and build a global community and governance model.
Your Skills and Experiences
Minimum 10+ years business development and account management experience.
Good knowledge of the Contract Logistics services and operating model as part of the overall supply chain.
Proven track record of navigating a global environments with international exposure.
Strong relationship management skills with both external and internal stakeholders.
Strong operational understanding of Contract Logistics (ideally in implementation of projects, operational roles, business development, engineering or customer management) as well as strong interest in new technologies and latest innovation in the warehousing and distribution environment.
Strong understanding and experience within the vertical industry and experience in supply chain/fulfilment logistics is essential.
Strong understanding of project management discipline and solutions as well as the ability to manage projects, teams, stakeholders and deliver agreed solutions and deadlines.
Analytical mindset and capability of long-term strategic development as well as short-term immediate problem solving.
Affinity with continuous improvement practices (e.g., lean six sigma).
Good knowledge of vertical related regulatory landscape in different geographies (if applicable).
High customer orientation and strong communication skills for discussions and negotiation with various hierarchical levels as well as internal and external interest groups across the globe, including escalation management.
Basic understanding of Finance and interpretation of P&L.
Business acumen and can spot business development opportunities for the company.
Willingness to travel globally.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
