JPMorgan Chase Audit - Senior Auditor - Associate in Jersey City, New Jersey

The Associate Senior Auditor position will be based in Jersey City, New Jersey with the CIO/Risk/Valuation & Finance team within the Corporate Risk Audit Team. The Corporate Risk Audit Team is primarily responsible for assessing the adequacy of the control environment across the firm's risk organization. This is achieved through a comprehensive program of audit coverage that is executed by a global team of business and technology specialists.

The North America Market Risk and Valuation Audit team is responsible for end to end coverage of firmwide market risk, structural interest rate risk, liquidity risk, capital risk, CCAR/DFAST trading stress testing & risk identification, and valuation (independent price verification, fair value adjustments).

The Auditor will be responsible for performing audit work in accordance with departmental standards, evaluating the system of internal controls and preparing risk assessment matrices, audit programs and audit planning memos as appropriate. The individual will be involved in preparing detailed reports of audit findings recommending changes in operational processes and practices and must be able to complete assignments in an efficient manner with sufficient attention to detail to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of coverage.

The applicant must be a mature professional with an understanding of internal control systems within a financial institution. This should include some experience dealing with risk management principles and controls. This individual should be a strong team player, able to multi-task, demonstrate project management skills and work under pressure in a dynamic business environment.


  • Lead all aspects of audit activities including risk assessments, audit planning, audit testing, control evaluation, report drafting, work paper documentation and follow up and verification of issue closure.

  • Partner with colleagues, clients and control community members to evaluate, test and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls. This is conducted in accordance with department and professional standards and will require the presentation of root cause analysis to senior client management.

  • Work with global line of business auditors in the early identification of emerging control issues and reporting them to line of business and audit management

  • Perform monitoring of periodic operational and financial related data to recognize patterns and trends with risk and control implications.

  • Partner with other groups within Audit (Corporate Investment Bank, Commercial Bank, Asset Management, Technology, etc.) to ensure the delivery of a seamless program of audit coverage across JPMorgan Chase.

  • Stay up to date with evolving regulatory and market events impacting the firm's risk organization.

  • At least 5 years of experience in a financial services firm, with an appropriate level of exposure to Market Risk Management, Valuation and/or Quantitative Finance and Model Risk Management

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Maths, Engineering or related discipline

  • Proficiency in market risk management principles and valuation practices

  • Ability to run audits, manage multiple projects and participate in audit assignments in a team environment

  • Proficiency in risk assessment, issue/impact analysis and executive report preparation

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required with ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management

  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal risk

  • Works well individually and in teams, shares information, supports colleagues and encourages participation
