JPMorgan Chase Agility Lead - Employee Experience - Channels in Jersey City, New Jersey

As an Agility Lead in Employee Experience, Channels , you will play a significant role as a champion for the adoption and continuous improvement of Agile practices within our teams. Leveraging your deep knowledge of product development methodologies and Agile principles, use your expert guidance, mentorship, and support to teams to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance. As a recognized subject matter expert, put your knowledge to use to work on complex issues, exercise considerable judgment, and make impactful decisions that shape the operational and business direction of your sub-function. Your leadership, communication, and coaching skills will be instrumental in empowering teams to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently and effectively, while continuously adapting to changing requirements and priorities.

The Agility Lead leverages foundational coaching techniques and knowledge of core agility methodologies to guide product execution and delivery. Coaching may extend beyond the boundaries of the aligned product to develop and share knowledge of the product development lifecycle.

Day to day you will increase the effectiveness of agile ways of working in Product team through coaching, influencing, teaching and participating in Community of Practice activities, therefore enabling Product team to deliver business outcomes. Work with Product Teams and across the organization, enhancing the understanding the value of agility, especially with regards to ensuring prioritization of workflow and updating the product backlog. Support the Product Team with agility, coach product quads and teams in writing effective OKRs, initiatives, epics, relevant tools and methodologies to successfully deliver complex Products; provide guidance and facilitate in quarterly and monthly planning; guides the team to self-management and cross functionality. Build a trusting, safe and transparent environment for both business and tech stakeholders, where problems can be raised during appropriate scrum events, without fear of blame, and with a culture of continuous improvement.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead and coach teams to adopt and implement agile methodologies, and promote open communication and engagement among team members ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with organizational goals

  • Use advanced communication, facilitation, and presentation skills to manage and influence stakeholders while communicating organizational impediments to leadership

  • Develop and implement short to mid-term operational and transformation plans, prioritize tasks and manage resources to achieve product goals in a timely and efficient manner through the utilization of metrics and evidence-based decisions

  • Identify trends and generate original ideas to contribute to the development of new policies and best practices within the discipline

  • Work with all group members and stakeholders to help them fully understand and work towards product goals.

  • Improve product processes and structures for better alignment, coordination, transparency and to reduce waste and optimize for efficiencies taking a data-driven approach.

  • Monitor product and team performance and health through BSGP, Team health checks, JIRA and JIRA Align metrics and facilitate coaching and conversations when intervention/changes are needed.

  • Help the product teams implement organizational changes and share feedback when changes don't work as expected. Help guide the group in experimentation.

  • Enable identification and removal of impediments to group performance and health.

  • Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making with colleagues inside and outside the group.

  • Communicate inside and outside the product area. Facilitate group events and workshops (as appropriate given the product area's maturity).

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in a relevant domain, with a focus on coaching teams and individuals on agile methodologies and project management

  • Possess advanced knowledge of multiple product development lifecycle stages, methodologies, and best practices, enabling effective guidance and support for teams

  • Display advanced knowledge of agile delivery and multiple agile approaches, including Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming (XP), and scaling frameworks, monitoring agility metrics; with the ability to guide teams through complex projects, emphasizing iterative progress and adaptability

  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels within the organization, effectively guiding group discussions and decision-making processes within the domain context

  • Create a culture centered on trust, transparency, continuous improvement and empowerment. Help to build a culture of collaboration including establishing feedback loops within and outside of the group. Help to increase the group's psychological safety using coaching behavior inside and outside the group.

  • Facilitation: Demonstrate techniques for engaging an audience, balancing the conversation, and being neutral to work towards agreed upon goals/outcomes (problem solving, prioritization, decision making, mediation)

  • Development Lifecycle Knowledge: Apply knowledge and awareness of delivering new or enhanced systems, applications, software, or products throughout the respective phases of a development lifecycle. (CI/CD, testing, requirements gathering, system/application/product design)

  • Lean Agile Process Knowledge: Demonstrate foundational knowledge of various agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, LeSS, SAFe) and is experienced in using the lean agile processes / methodologies to enable agile environments and support the development of products and delivering services (e.g., oversight of a distinct portfolio of work, prioritizes and identifies trade-off decisions, triages issues).

  • Understanding of Product discovery and delivery practices including use of effective Objectives and Key Result frameworks

  • Formal training on Agile coaching, such as recognized coaching certifications
