Reporting to the Claims Officer for Warranty Services, the Claims Team Lead is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a Claims team focused on handling service repair center inquiries and extended warranty support. The Claims Team Lead will focus on operational excellence: managing the performance of their assigned team and ensuring service levels and key metrics are consistently met.
As a part of the Claims management team at AIG Warranty, you are the one the team, clients, and both internal and external stakeholders turn to in times of need. You must act with speed, composure, compassion, and the knowledge to solve a variety of problems.
Oversees the day-to-day operations of a claims operations team (est. 15 full time employees).
Provides direction, guidance, and professional development to direct reports.
Plans, directs, supervises and evaluates work flow.
Coordinates work activities to achieve the expected claims operational and quality goals.
Recognizes and recommends claims operational improvements to drive down cost per claim.
Responsible for the day-to-day application of AIG policy and procedures.
Serves as an escalation point of contact for issue resolution, disaster recovery, and day-to-day issues that put customer/client experience at risk.
Provide assistance to Claims Examiners who manage incoming phone calls and emails from service providers seeking repair authorizations.
Report and evaluate team performance through key performance metrics.
Answer claims and coverage questions from team and other departments.
Take responsibility for continuously improving processes and product knowledge, understanding of program coverage and exclusions.
Act professionally at all times.
Establish a good rapport with other departments, teams, and clients.
What We Are Seeking:
A record of providing an outstanding service experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skill.
Experience in conflict resolution, or the ability to de-escalate tense situations, and comfortable in a role that requires some negotiations.
High School Diploma required.
Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Communications, Management, or Business highly preferred.
3+ years of experience in Leadership/ Management role.
Insurance licensed a plus.
Analytical, logic, and reasoning skills.
Results oriented, and able to work well under pressure.
Excellent organizational skills- flexible with moving from project to project while keeping track of progress.
Professional attitude- we are looking for someone enthusiastic, reliable, and a team player.
Proficiency with MS Office software, including Access, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills, skilled at relationship building.
Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
Strong focus and demonstrated commitment to team recognition and development.
Experience leading people through significant operational and personal change.
Demonstrates leadership skills to manage and drive solutions; must be able to deliver sustainable results.
Ability to self-start, work independently.
Proven ability to drive results though accountability.
