AIG Assistant General Counsel - Warranty & Services in Jeffersonville, Indiana

This individual will be responsible for managing or providing support to the managing attorney and business partners in the following areas:

Provide additional support to manage legal aspects of large, US and global service / warranty and insurance programs, including home and consumer portable electronics insurance and travel and other insurance coverages provided to credit card account holders..

Drafting and negotiating client and vendor contracts, amendments, addenda, statements of work, and similar documents.

Provide assistance in preparing, reviewing and commenting on documents such as marketing materials, contracts, letters, and client/insured communications.

Assist with the preparation and monitoring of various state regulatory filings, including form/rate, license application, financial, and related filings.

Assist with review, handling and monitoring of consumer complaints, regulatory requests for information, and lawsuits.

Assist with research and review of legal/regulatory issues concerning potential business opportunities and summarize and report the results of same.

Respond to business partner inquires as appropriate.

What we’re looking for:

● 2+ years of legal experience at a firm and/or in-house

● Experience with Warranty service contracts, portable electronics insurance, and Regulatory filings a plus.

● Strong research, drafting and analytical skills

● Ability to work collaboratively with peers and internal clients

● Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

●Ability to identify issues, gather and organize relevant information, devise solutions and action plans and obtain requisite support from business and law department leaders

● JD and bar admission required

The ideal candidate will be based in the Jeffersonville, IN area. However, remote candidates may be considered based on experience.
