Scholastic Production Technician I - 3rd Shift in Jefferson City, Missouri

Job Description:

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position will primarily consist of performing preventative maintenance on assigned equipment as required and performing routine maintenance on equipment. This may include installing equipment, performing testing on equipment, making adjustments and repairs to equipment and troubleshooting.

Essential Functions:

  • Make repairs and perform preventative maintenance on a variety of warehouse equipment with some supervision

  • A general understanding hand and power tools

  • Troubleshoot issues on equipment to efficiently identify problems with some assistance

  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation

  • Identify, remove, repair or replace defective parts as directed

  • Maintains parts and supplies/inventories as directed

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures

  • Perform routine maintenance around the buildings such as fixing cosmetic damage

  • Operates all types of powered industrial vehicles, including boom lift and sweeper/scrubber

  • Work in non-climatically controlled environment throughout the year

  • Ability to read and understand a Safety Data Sheet

  • Must be able to read and comprehend work requests and be able to communicate well with others

  • General understanding of the fire system and notify management of issues

Other Responsibilities

  • Repair broken or leaking plumbing and restore full use of water fixtures as instructed

  • Adheres to facility hours to include overtime and weekends

  • Maintains positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment

Qualifications

Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to work in high elevations with the use of Personal Protective Equipment as required

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Must be able to wear steel toe shoes

  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.

  • Refer to Physical Demand Analysis (PDA) for complete physical requirements

Qualifications:

  • Work flexible hours and overtime as requested

  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks with some direction, and self-assign new task

  • Skilled in use of some hand and power tools

  • Must pass a company paid drug screen

  • Must possess a valid Missouri state driver’s license.

  • Must pass a company paid drug screen.

  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.

  • Must have minimal understanding of Plumbing, Carpentry, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Painting and Electrical skills.

  • Possess good oral and written communication skills.

  • Reading and basic understanding math required.

  • Must have a team player mindset.

  • Must have excellent attendance, excellent job performance reviews, and a clean safety record.

  • Must understand Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

  • Must have a Safety Mindset with focus on accident avoidance.
