The Global Business Consulting team consists of Consultants from a wide variety of backgrounds - from the Air/Hotel/Ground industries, travel, management consulting, IT consulting and general management. Since its establishment in 2007, the practice has grown rapidly due to the maturity of the travel landscape and investments in the business. Enterprise hotel RFP program.

The area of focus for this position will be related to the Hotel practice line which spans corporate hotel program strategy design and execution including sourcing, program compliance, and optimization. This person will manage the hotel program and project workstreams for a single large Enterprise client. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with consulting, project management and hotel industry experience.

What You'll Do:

Engagement Execution:

  • Effectively complete multi-workstream engagements for a single large Enterprise client, prioritize client requests and work objectives leveraging appropriate project management methodologies and tools such as project plans and issue logs. Experience in applying change management techniques to drive sustainable engagement impact and ROI. Creates deliverables within established engagement scope, quality standards and time frames

  • Experience leading large projects with global and large complex customers (i.e., 40+ points of sale, $150M in global spend, 1000+ properties)

  • Hotel subject matter expertise including knowledge of RFP tools (Cvent, Sabre RFP, ReadyBid, etc.)

Problem Solving & Analysis:

  • Develops hypotheses and identifies data to evaluate based on client needs. Reviews and validates analyses, develops options/alternatives and creates insightful recommendations in context of total engagement. Strong innovative mindset.

  • Deep understanding of both TMC travel data and supplier/third party hotel data

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and reporting (i.e., Tableau)

  • Ability to create bespoke models and scenarios using available datasets

Communication:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, listening ability and written presentation skills. Ability to deal with ambiguity and present/discuss work results in a compelling manner. Distills complex subject matter into key messages for team members and clients

  • Leads global hotel supplier relationships – representing both customer & consultancy interests

Relationship Management:

  • Understands client organization and dynamics. Builds strong working relationships with all key stakeholders. Leverages American Express Global Business Travel and available industry tools and solutions to develop best-in-class deliverables and best practices

  • Experience successfully navigating global, for global client organizations (i.e., 40+ points of sale, $150M in spend, multiple client stakeholders) with the ability to articulate the value delivered through project work to all levels of client stakeholder.

  • Owns client satisfaction ensuring a superior client experience

Team Guidance and Support:

  • Operate in a team-oriented environment with a strong sense of responsibility toward team members, engagement objectives and practice line development

  • Demonstrates strong work ethic with peers and juniors. Coaches team on subject matter and industry knowledge such as sustainability, expected rate changes, booking pattern changes and relevant industry hot topics. Contributes to knowledge creation and dissemination related to the Corporate Travel industry. Supports delivery of internal/external projects that develop the business

  • Experience managing analysts (onshore & offshore) to create & deliver positive client outcomes

  • Partner with, manage and mentor analysts

  • Experience representing a firm or client’s interest within the marketplace (i.e., suppler/industry conferences)

  • Commercial mindset; ability to led business development efforts in addition to project delivery

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA strongly preferred, PMI certification a plus

  • In depth knowledge of complex cross functional Government sector environment is a plus.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a traditional consulting and/or Hotel strategy, sourcing and optimization role. Knowledge of strategy, financial/business operations, cost management preferred.

  • Experience managing hotel programs through platforms such as Cvent and data visualization solutions

  • Strong skills in data interpretation and presentation execution using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Birst, Power BI or others.

  • Demonstrated ability to think conceptually, using strong analytical skills; ability to evaluate alternatives and recommend client solutions

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, listening ability and written presentation skills

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and present/discuss work results in a compelling manner

  • Ability to create models and scenarios using all available data sets

  • Team leader, mentor and player and highly client-focused with the ability to demonstrate attention to detail and focus on quality

  • Excellent time management skills required – including ability to set priorities and work in a fast paced, multi-project environment

  • Flexibility/ability to adapt lead improvement, simplification and transformation in a dynamic environment

  • Strong communication skills that should include internal and external presentation development and deliver and ability to interact effectively with people at all levels within a team or client organization

United States

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $70,000 to $140,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
