A Brief Overview
Assist Depot and Water Treatment Plant operations with a variety of skilled utility maintenance and repair duties associated with a water treatment, water distribution system and wastewater collection system.
Pay:
$20.00/hour
What you will do
Water system preventive maintenance activities (i.e. hydrant flushing, flow testing & confidence testing) that occur.
Installation of water services and sewer connections.
Maintenance of water mains and service laterals.
Maintenance of wastewater collection mains and service laterals to include flushing, thawing or unblocking when necessary.
Extension of water mains and/or repairs to existing system.
Annual sewer jetting and camera surveillance.
Safety confined space attendant duties.
Lawn mowing, brush cutting, and other landscaping duties.
Minor building maintenance and housekeeping.
Conditions of Employment
Must pass a pre-employment drug test, random drug test thereafter in accordance with the published policy of Doyon Utilities.
Must have a valid driver's license issued by the State of Alaska. Must be eligible to work on a military installation in Alaska.
Eligibility to work on a military installation includes compliance with Department of Defense mandates with respect to employee background and health directives.
Qualifications
High School High School Diploma or equivalent. Required
Vocational program related to the industry. Preferred
Some experience Operating machinery, hand tools and mechanical fittings. Preferred
Confined space training that will be provided by employer. Training will allow incumbent to perform “entry attendant” duties for employees performing confined space work.
Ability to perform physical labor activities on a daily basis.
Hands on knowledge about machines, installation and use of tools and mechanical fittings.
Water system preventive maintenance activities.
Safety confined space attendant duties.
Currently in pursuit of obtaining Alaska Department of Environmental operator certifications, State of Alaska Plumber’s Certificate Preferred
