NJ Employer Agricultural worker in Jamesville, New York
Anticipated period of employment: 12/23/2024 to 06/07/2025

Assisting with lambing which includes segregating ewes that have given birth plus caring for the young which also includes, record keeping, giving: vaccinations, castration, tail docking, ear tagging, warming if hypothermic, bottle feeding orphans giving minerals and general care and feeding of the ewe and lamb flock. Feeding and watering includes giving the ewes, grain and hay 2x/day. Additional duties include, plowing in and around barns and farm during winter, setting barn configuration up and transferring animals based on management practices to separate barns as necessary. Cleaning barns, ability to use a skid steer and tractor with rotary cutter when necessary, gathering logs that have fallen in pasture or on fence lines cutting and splitting them and conducting fence repair when damages occur, mowing fields after they've been grazed, moving the flocks rotationally between fields, disposal and or composting of dead livestock by using tractor to pick up deceased animal, digging a hole and burying in the hole. Load products produced on the farm into trucks and drive trucks to market and unload, assisting with on farm kill of lambs, delivering lambs to slaughter house by use of farm vehicle. String sap lines on trees, install vacuum pumps, tapping trees, Collecting, running evaporator and reverse osmosis, and monitoring machines for the sap.
