A co-op in this position will work closely with engineers supporting the development of aircraft mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic systems integration and test, communication, networking & computing or requirements decomposition and traceability for Cargo systems. You will get to work with a variety of engineers from across the world to bring to life a cargo system.

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session that will run January - August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity). This role is onsite, in Jamestown, North Dakota.

What You Will Do:

• You will complete mechanical drawing design changes as required to facilitate manufacturing needs.

• You will generate and edit 3D CAD models and also generate technical presentations for internal and external customers.

• You will confer with engineers, customers, vendors and other stakeholders on existing and potential engineering projects or products.

• You will research, develop, design and test mechanical components, equipment and systems

• You will work cross functionally with Customer Teams, Mechanical Designers, Test Engineers & Technicians, Supply Chain, Production & Quality, Field Service Engineers, FAA and Airline Customers and OEMs.

What You Will Learn:

• You will learn the fundamentals of mechanical engineering for aviation programs.

• You will learn to do mechanical design and configuration processes.

• You will learn methods for team collaboration in a diverse worldwide development environment.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

• U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Prior Engineering co-op or internship experience.

• Experience with mechanical hardware and/or lab experience.

• Two years of coursework completed within Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering major.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
