Job Description

The “MySQL Global Business Unit” is responsible for global sales of MySQL products, to both the overall worldwide marketplace and Oracle's existing customer base together with proven commercial offering of the world's most popular open source database MySQL. The MySQL Global Business Unit is experiencing unprecedented growth, and is an integral part of Oracle's Global Software Practice.

A Solution Engineer (SE for short) at MySQL is responsible for providing pre-sales technical support as an integral part of the revenue generation activities in a territory consisting of one or more of: OEM, ISV, Enterprise accounts and Web-Property businesses. Territories vary by country/region.

An SE is both pre-sales technical support and a product evangelist for MySQL. The position requires public speaking, technical problem solving, and the ability to communicate with programmers, DBAs, and managers.

The SE role reports to the Manager of MySQL Solution Engineering in the Global Business Unit.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Support achievement of sales monthly, quarterly and annual revenue objectives

  • Collaborate with sales managers to develop strategies for key sales engagement and participate in activities to win

  • Reduce/eliminate technical obstacles to win the technical recommendation.

  • Provide proof/reference points that proposed solutions are architecturally sound, and operationally manageable for the customer

  • Provide Technical Account Management to key customers

  • Provide regular feedback to MySQL Marketing and Engineering on win/loss information

  • Work with selected MySQL Business Partners (Alliance, Reseller and SI Partners) to ensure their success.

  • Contribute to User Group Events as required

  • Work with MySQL Marketing to conduct seminars, webinars, assist with trade shows, and other marketing related events in territory

Preferred Qualifications:

  • More than 3 years track record in software solution pre-sales, with database experience highly preferred

  • High-tech background including database software and/or Cloud technology experiences

  • Willing to share, outstanding relationship building skills with a high degree of responsiveness and integrity

  • Familiarity with database, cloud technologies, application server, and other enterprise markets and technologies

  • Familiarity with technologies such as Linux, storage, BIDW, Microservice, Kubernetes, and containers will be an advantage

  • Fluent in Bahasa

  • Fluent in English is an advantage
