Mobile Equipment Servicer

Location: Jacksonville, North Carolina (Camp LeJeune)

Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift

Compensation: $26.00 - $26.00/hour

Skookum is seeking a reliable and motivated Mobile Equipment Servicer with a professional attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide Roadside Assistance as required to include performing minor repairs necessary to return equipment to operational status.

  • Must be familiar with servicing various types of commercial and non-commercial equipment/vehicles.

  • Must be able to read, understand, and follow service manuals and lube orders to ensure equipment is properly serviced.

  • Perform tire services and repairs using shop equipment as required.

  • Perform battery service and replacement as required.

  • Perform repairs and services as outlined in established maintenance schedule and repair manuals.

  • Must be able to perform initial receiving inspection, safety checks, and final road tests on equipment as required.

  • Accurately identify and order necessary repair parts for assigned equipment.

  • Maintains clean, organized workspace and service truck in compliance with established safety procedures.

  • Provide clear and accurate communication to customers. This includes creating and maintaining positive working relationships with customers in the course of daily work.

  • Shall maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the Skookum Employee Handbook.

  • Must exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to priorities and changing needs of the customer.

  • Maintain accurate labor form for assigned work.

  • Perform inspections, services, and repairs to equipment including, but not limited to, wheeled vehicles, track vehicles, engineer equipment, power generation, and material handling equipment, propane, natural, gas, battery, gasoline, and diesel engine-powered vehicles; light, medium, and heavy equipment; trailers.

  • Perform duties as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic as necessary or when all roadside assistance calls are complete.

    Qualifications:

  • 3 years of G eneral Automotive Repair experience is preferred.

  • Valid CDL Class A or B preferred

  • 609 EPA Certification required.

  • ASE Certification preferred.

  • Forklift certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 300+ pounds.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • Possess a valid Driver License and ability to obtain and maintain coverage under Skookum’s auto insurance company.

  • Valid CDL Class A or B preferred

  • Must have current or be able to obtain Medical Examiner Certificate (DOT Card) before hire.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances as background checks will be conducted for this position.

  • Must provide personal tools adequate to meet minimum equipment repair requirements
