Production Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to manage, direct, and coordinate all activities related to a production shift to maximize productivity and minimize costs while maintaining safety and quality. The successful candidate will coach the production team to be accountable for safety, production, quality, equipment, and housekeeping of the department. You will work closely with the Scheduler to ensure daily production requirements are achieved, carry out supervisory responsibilities, and ensure all production data is accurately gathered and reported daily. Additionally, you will support and improve upon quality initiatives and manage the safety of the department to ensure plant goals are met. In applicable locations, you will also be responsible for complying with SQF and GMP practices and programs to ensure safe food packaging.

Responsibilities

• Manage, direct, and coordinate all activities related to a production shift.

• Maximize productivity and minimize costs while maintaining safety and quality.

• Coach production team on safety, production, quality, equipment, and housekeeping.

• Coordinate with Scheduler to ensure daily production requirements are met.

• Carry out supervisory responsibilities including planning, assigning, and directing work.

• Appraise performance, address complaints, and resolve problems.

• Ensure all production data is correctly gathered and reported daily.

• Support and improve quality initiatives to meet plant goals.

• Manage the safety of the department to ensure plant goals are met.

• Comply with SQF and GMP practices and programs where applicable.

Essential Skills

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• 3+ years of related professional and progressive manufacturing experience.

• Proficient in MS Office.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and internal customers.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.

• Team-oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Operations Management, Business, or related field.

• Prior team management experience with a proven track record of developing, coaching, and mentoring a diverse staff.

• Experience with SAP and/or Oracle.

Work Environment

This position oversees two team leads and 45 production workers across two site locations. The East Plant focuses on weight bags/trash bags, while the West Plant produces food storage bags. The facility is heavily automated and employs approximately 800 people.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Jacksonville, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00

Potential for 5k sign on bonus if relocating
