If you're looking to take your career into the Healthcare and Hospitals industry, there is a terrific permanent position available for an experienced Staff Accountant at Robert Half. As a Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will lend your skills to developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Jacksonville, Florida area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.

What you get to do every day

• Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

• Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

• Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

• Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

• Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

• Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

• Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

• Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

• Take part in various department-wide initiatives

• Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

• Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

• In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  Requirements - Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

• Competent with spreadsheets and databases

• Practical knowledge of Lawson

• General familiarity with Lawson

• Solid understanding of Job Cost

• Quality experience with Oracle

• Fixed assets experience

• Experience with Lease Accounting

• Proven knowledge of account reconciliation

• Proficiency in capital assets

• Knowledge of capital assets

• Well-founded grasp of journal entries

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Spreadsheet and database capabilities

• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

• Detailed and have the ability work independently

• Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

• Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

• Experience with ERP systems
