The Information Technology Division is actively seeking a Senior Dev Sec Ops Engineer -Information Technology.

The Senior DevSecOps Engineer reports to the Applications Development Project Manager and is responsible for building, testing, and maintaining tools and infrastructure to help the organization develop and release software faster and more efficiently with the appropriate level of security. This individual must work in a collaborative environment with various teams within the organization (i.e. Infrastructure, Security, Development). The primary function of this role will be to administer GitHub by implementing security controls, collaborating with different teams, automating, and monitoring processes, and providing technical support.

Examples of Work

Primary responsibilities include the following:

  • DevSecOps Implementation: Designs, implements, and maintains GitHub best practices throughout the software development cycle.

  • Collaboration: Collaboratively define, scope, prioritize, and estimate tasks. Optimize and manage a healthy GitHub environment.

  • Security: Works closely with development, operations, and security teams to implement GitHub Advanced Security including Dependabot automated dependency updates, secret scanning, and code scanning.

  • Risk Management: Conducts security risk assessments and recommend mitigating risks. Detect, troubleshoot, and provide solutions to the problems in the DevSecOps domain.

  • Automation: Maintains and develops automation and continuous build/integration/deployment infrastructure for multiple environments

  • Documentation: Documents DevSecOps processes and ensure that the DevSecOps platform is up-to-date and properly maintained

  • Performance Optimization: Identifies and addresses performance bottlenecks. Recognize management concerns and challenges, evaluate them, and offer prompt solutions and/or escalation.

  • Project Management and ITIL: Aligns with standard Project Management methodologies and industry-standard service management principles (such as ITIL)

  • Knowledge of GitHub, GitHub’s products, GitHub CoPilot.

  • Knowledge of DevSecOps best practices.

  • Advanced knowledge of the full software development lifecycle.

  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies

  • Advanced skill in Agile software and development methodologies.

  • Ability to implement and manage core features, such as repository management, commits, branches, and merging.

  • Ability to write, build, and deploy scripts.

  • Ability to search and organize repository history.

  • Ability to leverage GitHub Actions and create custom Actions for publishing to GitHub Packages.

  • Ability to manage sensitive data and security policies within GitHub.

  • Ability to assist with implementation and training as needed.

  • Ability to take direction and perform tasks efficiently.

Open Requirements/Supplemental Information

Position Requirements:

  • Six years of education and/or experience in Development and Code Repository Management.

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Information Technology or a related field.

  • Three years of Automation of build-test-deploy within the application life cycle.

  • Software development experience with increasing scope and responsibilities preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with GitHub Source Control

  • Experience with C#, SQL/Oracle

  • Proven capacity for thinking leadership and a highly creative problem-solver.

  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills

  • Strong passion and thirst to keep up with new industry trends and standards.

  • Strong time management skills.

  • Display a high degree of inquisitiveness and an eagerness to learn at a detailed and abstract level.
