Senior Business Operations Leader

Who will you be working with?

The purpose of the Logistics, KinetiX and Digital Mine Operations Leader is to drive operational excellence and to leverage tools and processes to make information gathering and decision-making more effective. The Operations Leader will collaborate with all functions across multiple business units, including Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Services & Support Leaders, and many others to build operational metrics and processes that provide a clear view of business health, and that align with and drive the strategic priorities of the respective businesses. This role will report to the Senior Director, Operations & Program Management.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Business Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring appropriate measures are in place to accurately assess business health, track progress toward business goals, and inform key decision making. You’ll be implementing critical processes that allow us to realize execution of our strategic goals and enable us to be more efficient as a business. You’ll be responsible for reporting out to senior leadership on strategic initiatives and key business health metrics.

What do we want to know about you?

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college

7-10 years of experience in engineering, software development practices, project/program management and/or other operations-centric role

Strong analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems

Highly motivated person who is passionate about collaborating with others to drive business results and can motivate others to do the same to improve the organization

A team player who is open-minded, proactive, and process-driven

Able to make quality decisions with available information and move the business forward

Proven experience influencing teams without direct management responsibilities

Outstanding leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including PowerPoint, with a high attention to detail

Proficiency in commonly used tools in engineering like Rally, Confluence, Clarity, Power BI, (or equivalent tools)

What will your typical day look like?

You’ll have the opportunity to:

Assist in the creation and implementation of an operating structure for the Logistics, KinetiX and Digital Mine businesses, driving initiatives to leverage data to improve visibility and decision-making in furtherance of business goals and strategic priorities.

Partner with the Senior Director, Operations & Program Management to drive execution and preparation of content for all strategic and operational reviews and rhythms, to include All-Hands, Long-term strategic planning, business health reviews, and others.

Lead and partner on special projects and initiatives of strategic importance in furtherance of business goals.

Drive initiatives and implement processes to make data readily available in core systems such as Power BI. Monitor trends over time to identify risks and challenges and act to mitigate those risks.

Lead and partner with teams to identify and execute on business and productivity improvement projects that improve the team’s ability to execute and/or decrease costs to improve profitability.

Collaborate cross functionally with HR, P&L Leaders, and Finance leaders to solve complex problems related to resource supply & demand scenarios, budget changes, project schedules, operating plan management, and strategic planning as needed.

Support inorganic growth through market analysis, the identification of targets, due diligence, and deal closure.

Support managers with vendor management and sourcing needs for professional services, staff augmentation, and SW licenses and tools. Be the primary interface between engineering and sourcing and strategic suppliers for engineering needs. Coach and support managers on contingent worker compliance standards.

Support engineering operations by driving compliance with core quality processes and standards and measuring engineering operational rigor.

Develop and monitor metrics to drive execution in the overall engineering organization, perform detailed data analysis, and deliver executive level reports and presentations that address budget adherence, variances, resourcing needs, etc.
