University of North Florida Landscape Grounds Supervisor in Jacksonville, Florida

Nature of Work: This is work supervising employees and designated area of responsibility.

Typical Responsibilities: Supervises relevant employees and maintains designated areas. Maintains and advises supervisor of supply and equipment needs. Reports building maintenance requirements to supervisor. Responds to special cleaning, recycling, or groundskeeping needs. Maintains equipment. May implement special projects. During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.

Required Qualifications: A high school diploma and three years experience directly related to the job functions. Directly related college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Supervises remote site landscape/grounds maintenance. Implements landscape projects. Works with irrigation, heavy equipment and pest control staff to prepare planting areas. Implements programs for fertilization, irrigation, weed and pest control. Insures the maintenance of tools and equipment. May perform soil sampling and inspection of foliage for disease. During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.

Participates in work with other Landscape and Grounds supervisors and other Physical Facilities departments as needed. Assists with campus Emergencies and special events as directed by supervisor.
