The Role: SE Drafting Technician

SUMMARY

Performs drawing and administrative functions for marina/dock construction projects by preparing clear, complete and accurate plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches/notes, contract changes and/or bid specifications, by performing the following duties. Successful candidates will be required to complete an administrative background screen and pre-employment drug test per our Drug Free Workplace Policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Creates and reviews sales and proposal drawings in accordance with company standards, working closely with marketing personnel and customers.

Acts as liaison with outside engineers who provide structural, electrical and mechanical designs for projects, ensuring that BMI's drawings reflect the engineer's design intentions.

Creates construction and fabrication drawings in accordance with company standards and design engineer's directions and specifications.

Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.

Makes any adjustments or changes necessary or desired.

Prepares flotation calculations for each float module in a dock system.

Creates foam fabrication details using the flotation calculations to ensure that each float module will attain the designed freeboard.

Compiles and maintains both paper and data files on all projects for a historical record of all drawings completed.

Other office, plant, and construction duties as required.

Compensation:

BMI offers a competitive wage and benefits package; Hourly range $23.00- $27.00 dependent upon experience.Employee may receive Incentive Bonus Pay based on eligibility rules.
