Citigroup Business & Corporate Comms Intmd Sr Lead - VP in Jacksonville, Florida

The Corporate Comms lead will drive external awareness of Citi in key local markets in the U.S. You will work with senior leadership and partners to drive increased knowledge of Citi’s offerings and people both externally and within Citi. The person in this role is a seasoned professional who integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Contributes to standards around which others will operate.

Media relations experience is very important. This role will involve cultivating and maintaining positive connections with members of the media to enhance our organization’s reputation and visibility.

The role requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Requires basic commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and external/internal audiences. Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of the communications strategy to maintain and strengthen reputation among the key audiences, based on the business strategy, global and local priorities.

  • Promotion of the key advantages of the company, its products, services and people among key external audiences and employees.

  • Building and strengthening work with key media, audiences and their representatives. Influencing company’s reputation in the public sphere.

  • Maintain records and approvals for audit purposes where appropriate.

  • Engage stakeholders in a matrixed organization to manage issues in critical situations, with a focus on reputation risk.

  • Ensure us of effective communication channels to distribute targeted information in promotion of Citi in the communities where we live and work.

  • Writing communication updates and messages as per an approved Communications plan or to support activities as well as business/function line communication.

  • Source, develop, and ensure relevance of content for various channels.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of communications and 6-10 years of experience

  • Strong communications (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills, including tact, diplomacy, and ability to influence senior executives

  • Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive professional attitude

  • A team player who will implement initiatives effectively and motivate others to perform their task

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Experience or demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment within a heavily matrixed organization

  • Track record of success in delivering high quality work in a fast paced and dynamic environment

  • Critical competencies include oral communication, written communication, project management, relationship building, results orientation and strategic orientation

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, communications, marketing or another related field

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$103,920.00 - $155,880.00
