West Tennessee Healthcare Interventional Technologist in Jackson, Tennessee

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Coordinator, the employee is responsible for providing quality patient care and technical support in the performance of vascular procedures in either the Endovascular or Hybrid Operating Room Suite. The employee will perform other radiological procedures in the Main OR as deemed necessary. Registration as a Radiologic Technologist by AART, licensed. The employee is responsible for performing these procedures on an assigned shift and is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.

Performs routine or emergent vascular procedures in the Endovascular and/or the Hybrid Operating Room Suite.

Assists the surgical team with the operation, set-up, and use of all endovascular equipment before, during, and after the procedure.

Conducts checks for expired supplies in the Endovascular area.

Demonstrates ability to operate and troubleshoot all specialized equipment.

Demonstrates ability to access patient information in the various hospital or department systems.

Demonstrates initiative by using time productively when not assigned to specific other duties.

Assures all images are prepared for interpretation with proper identification and placement in the archival system.

Reconciles, acquires and processes images in the Radiology PACS setting.

Applies appropriate functions and applications within the Radiology Information System (RIS).

Pulls arterial or venous access lines, using proper sterile technique.

Maintains a clean, well-supplied procedure room.

Willing to perform unscheduled duties as needed.

Contributes to a positive work climate and to the overall effort of the department and maintains a “CAN DO” attitude.

Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

EDUCATION:

Skills and proficiency in the technical field of Radiologic Technology. Such proficiency is acquired through the completion of a 2 year accredited AMA-approved Radiology Technology Program.

Knowledge of hospital and department policies and procedures, ability to perform endovascular radiological procedures as acquired through 6 months of job training.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:

Registration as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and possesses appropriate state license.

Is proactive and ensures the availability of a current license, does not let the license lapse at the end of the birth month. Notifies any known problems with their license immediately to the Director.

Current BLS Certification

EXPERIENCE:

Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate Health Care and assessment to all patients, neonate to geriatric, and meets age-specific requirements.

Knowledge of hospital and department policies and procedures, equipment, forms, and record-keeping as acquired through the orientation process.

One year (1) experience in Vascular Intervention or Cath Lab preferred.
