Arcadis U.S. Inc. Traffic and ITS Design Engineering Lead - 22030 in Jackson, Mississippi

This is a job for a Traffic and ITS Design Engineering Lead position with a company located in Jackson, MS.

Role description: Collaborate with a team of engineers to deliver design projects throughout the Southeast Region. The role will require the candidate to serve as the Engineer of Record for construction plans for the installation of Intelligent Transportation Systems, traffic signals and related aspects of traffic design. Candidates will routinely engage and strengthen relationships with clients throughout project delivery and marketing activities. Location in Atlanta, GA or Nashville, TN, Raleigh, NC, Jackson, MS, Jacksonville, FL, or Tampa, FL is required. Candidates will have the ability to work a hybrid schedule but will be required to attend internal and external client meetings in person as needed.

Role accountabilities: Collaborate with a team of engineers and serve as the Engineer of Record (EOR) in the preparation of construction plans for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and traffic signals. Serve as task manager for ITS and traffic signal design components of design projects. Responsible for the development of signal plans including signal design layout, pole loading details, pole height calculations and clearance calculations. Responsible for development of fiber design, network architecture and conducting link-loss budgets for large scale ITS projects across the Southeast. Coordinate and interface with clients to discuss technical elements of the project and present results. Providing training and guidance to junior engineers and interns in areas of technical proficiency and consultancy.

Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications. 10 years of relevant work experience post degree. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. PE in Georgia or Tennessee within six months of hire. Must possess a US Drivers license.

Preferred Skills and Proficiencies: Proficient in the design of ITS and Traffic Signal Systems. Relevant design experience in Georgia and/or Tennessee. Proficiency with MicroStation and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer. Understanding of the application of traffic operations principles including ITE, MUTCD, AASHTO, and state DOT requirements, policies, manuals and procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail is critical in the success of this position. Ability to work well in groups as well as independently.
