Emerson Senior Account Executive - Wind Energy Sales Specialist in Jackson, Mississippi

As the Account Executive for Wind Energy Sales , you will be responsible for growing revenue in the Wind Energy market for North America, focusing on attracting new customers, growing market share and developing strong industry relationships. You will be a part of the Emerson Power & Water Solutions business, supplementing the local sales team to drive competitive displacement and greenfield orders in the Wind Power Generation industry.
Power & Water Solutions is an industry-leading controls automation company that focuses on providing applications in the renewable (solar, hydro, wind), fossil (natural gas and coal) power generation, and water treatment plants sectors. We focus on upgrading existing plant control systems with industry-leading automation controls and instrumentation to promote the sustainability and longevity of our North American power grid and wastewater infrastructure.
AS A SENIOR ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, YOU WILL:
Develop new customer accounts in the wind energy market
Actively visit potential customers to understand their business drivers, needs and pains to connect them to the Emerson solution
Develop, engage and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
Create and deliver technical presentations to prospective clients
Identify and recommend account strategies through territory business analysis
Negotiate technical and commercial issues to close orders
Execution of sales plans and strategies, short and long term
Provide concise industry updates, competitive differentiation and pricing strategy to executive-level management
Maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool
Represent Emerson in professional meetings, trade shows, and conferences
WHO YOU ARE:
You adjust communication content and style to meet the needs of diverse collaborators. You serve as a strategic partner to build, grow, and maintain profitable and long-lasting relationships with key accounts. You honor commitments and keep confidences.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience will be accepted in lieu of education.
5+ years' experience in Wind Power industry (in sales, marketing, operations or related fields) applying SCADA and Control System products and services OR wind farm or turbine optimization solutions
Demonstrated experience breaking into new accounts and establishing vertical and horizontal relationships
Strong understanding of the industry drivers that lead to control system upgrades
Ability to travel up to 75% annually within the United States and Canada
Legal authorization to work in the United States without the requirement for employer sponsorship or work visas now or in the future.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree
Sales experience in the Wind Power industry
Experience in competitive displacement sales
Existing relationships within the Wind Power market, including owners, operators, developers and EPCs
Knowledge of wind turbine control retrofits, SCADA, pitch control and condition monitoring systems

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000 annual salary + bonus incentives, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
