Accounting Manager

What you’ll do:
As a member of our Corporate Accounting Team, you will gain experience and develop your skills in a variety of accounting positions that will provide you with the necessary knowledge and expertise to further advance your career.
You'll have:
Major responsibilities for this position will include:
Research, develop, and establish the Company’s global accounting policies, providing guidance on technical accounting questions/processes for U.S. GAAP, such as:
Battery raw material sourcing agreements
Treasury matters, including derivative accounting
Consolidation assessments (Variable Interest Entity, Voting Interest)
Lease accounting, including embedded leases
Determine accounting impact resulting from significant operational changes, including the shift to battery electric vehicles
Serve as technical accounting expert on projects, including:
Joint ventures
Acquisitions
Divestitures
Restructurings
Review new accounting standards (U.S. GAAP & IFRS) and lead the resulting development of internal accounting policies, communicating changes to applicable parties, reviewing implementation plan, and ensuring proper implementation by effective date
Development and implementation of accounting processes for whitespace corporate initiatives
Manage various aspects of our accounting and financial reporting processes
Serve as accounting subject matter expert on a variety of cross-functional activities
Support internal audits and external audits of our financial statements and footnotes
Support and ensure adherence to financial control processes
Collaborate with team members throughout our global organization
The minimum requirements we seek:
Bachelor’s Degree, and CPA (or Chartered Accountant) or Master’s Degree in Accounting
5+ years of technical accounting experience at Big 4 / regional public accounting firm or equivalent experience with an SEC registrant – with responsibility for researching or executing accounting for offtake / raw material sourcing agreements, derivatives, embedded leases, and/or applying technical accounting guidance to other complex arrangements Even better, you may have...
