Location:
This position is hybrid (virtual/onsite)assigned to Jackson Service Center located in Jackson, MI. The candidate must be located within a daily commutable distance OR willing to relocate (relocation package available to those who qualify).
We are looking for: Senior Licensed Professional Surveyor Engineer
The Senior Licensed Professional Surveyor Engineer provides project management, technical expertise, field/office oversight, client support and CAD support for boundary, topographic, ALTA, aerial, monitoring, hydrographic and route surveys, construction staking, and easement preparation for gas, electric and generation projects. The Senior Survey Engineer will coordinate, determine, and manage scope of work, budget, and schedule to create design/engineering surveys, boundary surveys, monitoring surveys, legal exhibits, plan and profile surveys, and as-built surveys for multiple internal clients including Gas Transmission and Distribution, HVD and LVD Engineering, Substation Engineering, Hydro Operations, Generation and Compression Engineering, Real Estate, and Legal.
The knowledge and skills involved with this position include but are not limited to:
Communications and Negotiating - Engaging in meaningful conversation with clients, contractors and employees Determining detailed scoping and deliverables. Organizational and prioritization skills Ability to manage multiple small to large scale multi-year projects and oversee all aspects of survey from field to finish Agility - Quickly adjust priorities and determine new courses of action AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) MicroStation, ProjectWise, Trimble Business Center, PLSCADD, GIS, Google Earth Pro Experience reviewing survey and engineering drawings, data and documents for quality and accuracy Interpreting, plotting, and preparing legal descriptions. Interpreting easements and title commitments Detailed knowledge of Michigan survey law, local ordinances, and real estate law

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program with four (4) or more years' experience working as a licensed professional surveyor including oversight of survey personnel [OR] Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a non-ABET accredited program plus a Professional Engineering License with four (4) or more years' experience working as a licensed professional surveyor including oversight of survey personnel Michigan Professional Surveyor License - Required Annual Continuing Education Requirements to maintain Licensure - Required In this role, you will:
Consults and aligns with internal clients to determine and develop project scope, schedule, and budget for moderate to complex survey projects Advise and offer technical expertise to Engineering in developing project specifications, monitoring requirements, and quality control/assurance Establish survey budgets and forecasts for major projects Coordinate, supervise, and oversee multiple survey contractors and internal survey crews on multiple simultaneous projects Attend weekly project meetings. Perform quality assurance for completeness, accuracy, appearance and usability of survey drawings, legal descriptions and data Perform field and office engineering duties to solve complex boundary and geo-spatial calculations. Interpret legal descriptions and land title, for existing and pro
