Job Title: Distribution Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking Distribution Engineers for a one-year contract-to-direct position. You will play a vital role in connecting new homes and commercial businesses to the energy grid or upgrading existing connections. Selected individuals will perform field work, collecting notes, pictures, and measurements to create work packages. Electrical analysis and material selection will follow, leading to a complete electrical work package for the utility company's field installation team. This role requires a combination of field work, design work, electrical analysis, and bill of materials creation.

Work Environment

Selected candidates will work in various locations: South (Hamilton, Coldwater, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek/Lansing, Jackson/Adrian/South Monroe), East (West Branch/Clare, Saginaw/Bay City/Alma, Flint), and West (Traverse City/Benzie/Boyne, Grand Rapids, Greenville/North Kent, Muskegon/Fremont, Cadillac/Big Rapids/Ludington). The role involves 10%-20% field inspections, 60%-80% engineering and development of design packages, and 10% administrative tasks, planning, and customer follow-up. Field work is flexible and can be scheduled around other projects and weather conditions. Remote work is possible for the remainder of the time.
