Many faculty engage in bioengineering research in collaboration across the Engineering College, with Cornell hospitals, with the Veterinary School, and with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The recently launched Cornell-HSS Biomechanics program through the Center for Advanced Materials and Engineering in Orthopaedics (CAMEO) () affords its members an opportunity to regularly engage in multidisciplinary and cutting edge collaborations that bridge the gap between basic science and clinical translation. In addition, Cornell fosters interdisciplinary research and an atmosphere of interdisciplinary collaborations through its Centers and Field system and multidisciplinary centers such as the Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future, Cornell Center for Material Research, the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source, and the Engineering Living Materials Initiative. Cornell also offers opportunities for entrepreneurship and commercialization of technologies developed by faculty through the Cornell Center for Technology Licensing and local incubators such as the McGovern Center for Venture Development.

The Sibley School and the College of Engineering at Cornell embrace diversity and seek candidates who will foster a climate that attracts students of all races, nationalities and genders. We strongly encourage individuals from underrepresented groups in Engineering to apply.
