The Division of Student and Campus Life, Enterprise Services is looking to hire full-time temporary Student Center Package Handlers to assist with processing incoming and outgoing mail and packages on North Campus and other assigned area(s). This is an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door with this great team!


The North Campus Student Service Centers is the main hub for all the Residence Halls on North Campus mail, packages, keys, and other services. A successful candidate has experience with attention to detail and providing an excellent and safe customer experience.


Hourly Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

Scheduled Weekly Hours: The scheduled weekly hours for this position are approximately 39 hours a week with an expected end date of August 18, 2023.
Availability requirements: Current scheduling needs are Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm

However, the schedule may vary based on availability, hours of operations, and business needs


Summary of job duties:

  • Receiving and issuing incoming mail and packages at the North Campus Student Service Center using proprietary mail and packaging software
  • Delivery of incoming packages to student residence hall rooms before arrival
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly and effectively with various mail carriers, professionally building guests, team members, and student staff
  • Work as a team member, reporting damage, safety issues, and workload needs

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to read and write in English effectively
  • Basic computer knowledge and troubleshooting experience
  • Must possess & maintain a valid NY State driver's license

Physical Requirements include:

  • Able to lift 50 lbs. consistently throughout the shift moving large boxes, chairs, etc.
  • Able to climb three flights of stairs
  • Able to stand for long periods
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions and extreme temperatures for extended periods
  • Must be free of debilitating dust allergies, or can manage such allergies
