New Roots Charter SchoolTeaching AssistantBased on Anticipated Needs for 2024-25 School YearPosition Title: Instructional AideDuration: September 2024 to June 2025; renewable annuallyHours: Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week when school is in session.Teaching and Learning ResponsibilitiesProvide support for assigned students during Learning Labs and during class:Monitor student progress and assist students in identifying outstanding assignments, focusing on students identified as being at risk of academic failureProcure and monitor use of Chromebooks or other computer technologyCommunicate with teachers regarding student progress and support needsServe as a quiet room for students in need of alternative workspace as assignedMaintain hard copy files of outstanding quizzes and tests and follow up with students to complete during learning labs or other appropriate timesSupport testing accommodations as neededRecruit and coordinate volunteer tutorsProvide direct support to instruction in the classroom as assignedCoordinate student support activities with other professionals, such as special education teachers, related service staff, general education teachers and specialistsAssist with maintaining student records and reportingAll other duties as assigned by the Principal Standards and QualificationsDemonstrate the ability to work effectively with othersDemonstrate the ability to plan and show initiative to work independentlyDemonstrate the willingness to assume any responsibilities necessary for the teaching and learning focus areasSupport the mission and vision of New Roots Charter SchoolWork in a professional manner at all timesSet an appropriate example of punctuality, attendance, dress, language an
