GE Aerospace Staff Engineering Software Developer - Thermo-Fluid Systems- Hybrid in Istanbul, Turkey

Job Description Summary

GE Aerospace is offering the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and applications, specializing in aircraft engine design and analysis, in a technology base. Turkey Technology Center (TTC), is one of GE Aerospace's nine engineering centers throughout the world, supporting aviation-related R&D and innovation projects that expand with new investments. Our campus is in Kartal, Istanbul.

We are looking for an experienced engineer who will be responsible for leading and driving thermo-fluid systems design tools and methods development. You will be working with a global team who has extensive experience in applying state-of-the-art numerical methods to solve complex real-world flow and thermal problems in GE Aerospace. You will drive the engineering application design, development, and maintenance including architecture design and selection of technology for sustainable and scalable applications. You will also be responsible for defining product roadmap, software development and deployment lifecycle, delivering efficiency, and quality, resulting in high value for users.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Close collaboration with global development team and global users (Secondary flow, Lube System, Combustion, Thermal & Gearbox System).

  • Provide technical guidance/mentorship (flow methodology development, element development, solver enhancements etc.) to global development team.

  • Create and track overall development plan (yearly) to meet defined milestones as per business need. Lead scrum meetings to ensure deliverables (GUI and Solver) are met with required FTY and OTD.

  • Represent team in Thermal Design Board activities while ensuring effective collaboration with user community to enhance user experience and reduce waste in tool usage. Champion sharing & documenting lessons learnt into relevant design practices & design boards.

  • Leverage 1-D flow and thermal expertise to resolve critical fielded issues.

  • Responsible for leading and defining development process and architecture while leveraging LEAN principles in SDLC.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • MSc/PhD in Aerospace, Mechanical or Computer Science (with experience in 1-D / 3-D Flow and Thermal methods domain)

  • Complete understanding of SDLC with minimum 3 years of software development experience in any 1-D flow/thermal tool

  • Expert in programing skills and numerical methods with minimum 3 years of experience in FORTRAN and flow-thermal solver methodology development

Desired Characteristics

  • Expert in multi-language programming skills (Python/C++)

  • Proven skills of Thermal System Design process integration (CAD – Meshing – Solver – Post processing)

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to influence others and lead teams

  • Ability to track and co-ordinate tasks involving global team members
