Southern California Edison (SCE) oversees a portfolio of Energy Efficiency (EE) customer programs, some of which SCE manages with the assistance of 3rd-party implementors. Although design and delivery of EE programs in California has moved mostly to third-party vendors, SCE retains several running legacy programs within the EE portfolio. These programs have multi-million-dollar budgets and incentivize customers across segments (e.g., residential, commercial, industrial) to adopt energy efficient measures (e.g., LED lighting bays, heat pumps) or behaviors to deliver kWh / kW savings.
As the Energy Efficiency Program Senior Advisor , you will be accountable for ensuring these EE programs deliver on stated goals by leveraging data to direct changes, identify and resolve internal bottlenecks, and guide day to day program operations. SCE’s EE programs include 3rd-party led contracts, including local and statewide programs, and are designed to promote energy efficient adjustments across both residential and non-residential sectors. The Senior Advisor will need to develop a proficient understanding of the programs managed, build strong relationships with 3rd party vendors, and comprehensively review the goals and work of any new, future programs. Work on the programs will involve highly complex data analysis and engineering involvement, and therefore will require am experienced Senior Advisor with high levels of cross-functional collaboration with relevant SCE teams, with an emphasis on managing performance analytics to drive outcomes.

Managing performance of programs to ensure goals met and course corrects where necessary– including\:
Ensuring quality assurance/control prioritizes pipeline based on likelihood to attain savings
Reporting insights from performance analytics (e.g., common issues, leading indicators, customer feedback) to program and EE leaders to improve performance
Tracking and managing key performance indicators
Providing input on revising forecasts based on projects in pipeline and visibility into program funnel
Owning portfolio of programs (e.g., has deep knowledge on pertinent measures, goals, and customer needs) – including\:
Providing input into portfolio planning based on experience / knowledge of resourced programs
Reviewing project packages in advance with engineering to achieve clear understanding of quality standards and rules prior to program launch
Attending solicitations meetings if programs require outsourcing to implementors for program delivery
Rolling out programs and coordinating various internal/external partners – including\:
Communicating with and onboarding relevant SCE teams for program
Creating onboarding materials and implementing onboarding process (e.g., review of approval requirements; set expectations on performance standards; establish governance / touchpoints with various internal collaborators to monitor progress; codify program metrics and create a process for collecting relevant metrics)
Soft launching processes for sample test submissions to make sure systems and reviews work appropriately before commencing program
A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
The essentials
10 or more years’ experience with performance / resource management (e.g., field force operations, business operations, supplier management)
Five or more years' experience within\: program management, project management, business operations, project consulting, or similar functions
The preferred
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or related field
Experience with developing and executing program implementation workplans
Working knowledge of IOU-led Energy Efficiency programs and policies
Experience with energy efficiency contracts
Entrepreneurial mentality with ability to handle competing priorities and deliver results
Proficient problem-solving skills with hypothesis-driven approach
Ability to proactively assess gaps and develop processes, tools, and recommend actionable solutions to remediate workstream(s)
Strong interpersonal communication skills and desire to build collaborative partnerships across 3rd party contractors and internal functions
You should know
This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
