As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

  • Design and develop large-scale applications, including backend services and APIs, while ensuring practicality, stability and reliability.

  • Design and develop large-scale data systems, including databases, data warehouses, and search engines.

  • Create scalable and efficient data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses or data lakes for analytical purposes.

  • Analyze and resolve complex issues in the applications, identifying root causes and implementing robust fixes.Continuously optimize application performance and scalability through code improvements, cloud service optimizations, and infrastructure as code practices.

  • Documents engineering processes, workflows, and systems for reference and knowledge-sharing purposes.

  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineering teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of UI and backend architectural principles.

  • 5+ years of experience in Java or Python, along with relevant frameworks (Spring Boot for Java, Django/Flask/FastAPI for Python).

  • 5+ years of experience in ReactJS, HTML5, and CSS3.

  • 5+ years of experience in RESTful APIs and API Design.

  • 5+ years of experience deploying/scaling apps on containerized environments (Kubernetes, AKS) and serverless compute.

  • Strong understanding of security best practices.

  • 3+ years of experience with Big Data and cloud architecture.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience building modern data pipelines in GCP, AWS, or Azure.

  • 3+ years of experience with real-time and streaming technologies (Azure Event Hubs, Azure Functions, Kafka, Spark Streaming).

  • 3+ years of experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

  • 3+ years of experience with Python (or a comparable scripting language).

  • 3+ years of experience with ETL/ELT and building high-volume data pipelines.

  • 3+ years of experience with query optimization, data structures, transformation, metadata, dependency, and workload management.

  • 2+ years of experience working with LLMs and other Gen AI models.

  • 3+ years of experience independently managing deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with different phases of software development lifecycle (SDLC) .

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

  • Solid understanding of data architecture principles and proven experience in designing and developing scalable data systems, while considering data governance requirements.

  • Knowledge in GCP architecture, commands and experience designing & optimizing software and data engineering patterns

  • Proficient in a scripting language, such as Shell or Bash

  • Formal SAFe and/or agile experience. Previous healthcare experience and domain knowledge

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $222,480.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
