Caterpillar is seeking a corporate law department paralegal to provide support for legal entity management and treasury functions. The paralegal will work closely with the Corporate Secretary and the Securities attorney on legal tasks and activities to support and protect the organization.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide support, prepare, and file annual reports for all U.S. entities

  • Manage and provide support for legal entity governance changes, working closely with Legal, IT, Accounting and Tax

  • Draft and manage incumbency certificates and apostille process

  • Manage document processes/approvals required for compliance

  • Assist with significant Treasury projects

  • Manage shareholder inbox, including responding and escalating communications as appropriate

  • Assist with other projects as necessary, including communication with transfer agent etc.

  • Serve as key contact for internal stakeholders including Accounting, Treasury, Investor Relations, and others and facilitate coordination among such stakeholders

What You Have:

  • Education/Experience: 4-year degree or equivalent experience desired; Paralegal certificate preferred

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

  • Confidentiality: Knowledge of practices and policies governing disclosure of information about the organization, its business activities, and employees; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

  • Document Management: Knowledge of document management; ability to categorize, integrate, update, document and distribute business information in a secure, effective way.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Prior experience providing paralegal support for a public company

  • Experience using CSC or similar platform

Additional Info :

  • The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL or Irving, TX

  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify

  • Domestic travel up to 10%
