Role Definition

This role is primarily responsible for Deployment, Supplier Enablement and Catalog Support in the Americas Region for Caterpillar Indirect Procurement systems supported by the GFSD Digital Excellence Team which Includes:

Primary Solutions:

  • Guided Buy – GEP SMART

  • NextGen – Coupa

Secondary Solutions:

  • Third Party Labor – IQ Navigator / Beeline

  • My Caterpillar Travel Expense (MCTE) – SAP Concur

  • Expense and Procurement Card Programs

This position will help support the internal Indirect Procurement organization as well as key stakeholders across the enterprise.

People: Works effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers at all levels.

Leadership: No direct reports. Will demonstrate ERP, ETL, Database, and Project management skills required to collect, compile, assimilate, communicate, and maintain information as required. Incumbent will assess and recommend solutions. Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards within this diverse global organization.

Strategy: Help customers with configuration, deployment, testing, communication, supplier enablement, catalog support, master data collection, training, troubleshooting and hyper care-related activities

Responsibilities

  • 4 year college or university degree with 5 years of job-related experience

  • 3 to 5 years of ERP experience

  • 3 plus years of experience with cloud databases and middleware technologies

  • Experience with cloud-based ERP Deployments

  • Requires effective communication skills – both oral and written

  • Must exhibit strong interpersonal skills and should have a collaborative work style

  • Should have a great attitude to learn and implement new technologies

Degree Requirement

  • 4 year college or university degree with 5 years of job-related experience

Top Candidate Will Also Have:

  • Experience using the NextGen (Powered by Coupa) procurement platform is preferred

  • Knowledge of end-to-end Source-to-Pay business process

  • Preferred that the incumbent is familiar with basic procurement and quality principles, procedures, and techniques

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a dynamic environment.

  • Experience in Data Analytics and Reporting

  • 10% travel is required

  • Researches the benefits and drawbacks of an organization's application software.

  • Trains others on requirements walkthroughs and quality reviews.

  • Utilizesautomateddiagrammingtools toensuretraceability ofrequirements.

System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Designsand developsapplicationsortechnologyinterfacesand bridges.

  • Documents existing bestpractices forsystemor technologyintegrationprocesses.

  • Identifies and quantifies risks of proposed alternatives to a system or technology integration initiative. Delivers training on major issues, interfaces, considerations and potential pitfalls and risks.

  • Discusses with line areas on data, technology and application integration issues.

  • Advises others in how to integrate projects across multiple technologies.

System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Verifies the proper flow of transactions across all input, output and storage channels or devices. Evaluates interoperability of new systems with existing systems during the beta testing phase.

  • Supervisesthetestingofcomplex,multi-platformand distributedapplications.

  • Designs processes to ensure that the system meets and maintains requirements and expectations.

  • Coaches end users on the development of test data and test scenarios for system validation.

  • Managesthe executionof testplans, includingresources,strategies, schedules,processes and tools.

Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.
