Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Software Development Engineer in the Personalization Edge team, your work will transform how Amazon creates personalized recommendations and experiences at scale for hundreds of millions of customers. Our team leverages advancements in edge computing and mobile technologies to innovate on behalf of customers. We partner with teams across Amazon on bold architectural initiatives focused on delivering fast, reliable and personalized experiences closer to customers. Basic Qualifications
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience in Rust programming

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
