Amazon Sr. Creative Development & Scale Manager, Retail Experience, Offline Sales & Marketing in Irvine, California

Description

As the Offline Sr. Creative Development & Scale Manager you are passionate about the retail experience. You create the content strategy for how new products like Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablets and Kindle come to life offline. Working in a cross-functional team environment, you are looked as the expert for Amazon offline across the voice assistant and smart home categories. You understand the retail landscape, demo and fixture technologies, and translate creative direction to our technology framework. This position will play a pivotal role in gathering requirements for all asset needs across channels and devising efficient strategies for the launch of content at scale for our demo devices, digital screens and detail page experiences.

As the Offline Sr. Creative Development & Scale Manager, you are also responsible for overseeing the end-to-end content creation and upload for Amazon's retail store and demo experiences. This role blends project management expertise with a deep understanding of content strategy, creative vision, and our target audience to deliver innovative and impactful content. You strive to invent and simplify, creating strategies and playbooks that the offline global teams can use to make their every day jobs easier. Your North Star is creating an offline experience that is bar-raising, quickly recognized by Amazon shoppers globally, while staying true to our brand voice.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead the offline content strategy for Amazon devices, ensuring alignment with overall brand objectives and customer needs

  • Be a strategic thought-leader and collaborator with product marketing, product management, and design to determine the right messaging priorities for the offline environment.

  • Clarify and drive project commitments and maintain clear chains of accountability by leading and facilitating meetings with key stakeholders

  • Oversee the production of engaging and informative print materials, digital content, and video assets tailored to different Amazon devices

  • Develop the overarching offline communication campaign themes that should be incorporated in our messaging in-store

  • Develop comprehensive playbooks and templates to guide consistent and effective communication across various channels

  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies for content management

  • Implement scalable processes to streamline content creation and distribution across various marketing channels

  • Be the champion for our offline playbook, making changes as needed in collaboration with the design team so we can invent and simplify as we scale

  • Guide the offline design/copywriter or agency to tell a story across a portfolio of devices and/or categories

  • Anticipate changes and bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, balance the customer needs versus technical and operational constraints; and encourage risk-taking behavior to maximize customer obsession

  • Manage the budget for the on-fixture video content and design spend for the Retail Experience team

  • Proven track record of taking Ownership and Delivering Results

A day in the life

You must be responsive, detail oriented, and flexible to handle change. You are right a lot, able to see around corners, and comfortable with ambiguity. You have the ability to work with new and new-to-world concepts and creating user stories that are easily digestible. You go back and forth easily with high level strategies across categories, while diving deep to learn the nuances of specific product launches. You think like the customer, representing them in all meetings you attend. You obsess to get the small details right that matter, without sacrificing speed to market. You have backbone, and disagree and commit by being the voice of the customer in internal reviews.

About the team

The Amazon Offline Device Sales & Marketing (OSM) team expands the distribution and availability of Amazon Devices by initiating and managing partnerships with North America offline retailers. This role sits within the Retail Experience team that support all of our offline experience through retail partners (e.g., Best Buy, Target, Home Depot) both in-store and online and other non-Amazon consumer sales channels. This includes consumer electronics, mass merchant, regional chains, DIY, hardware, club store across multiple market segments outside of Amazon physical stores. This is a highly collaborative role that will work across multiple Amazon device categories to create and execute unique strategies that reach a variety of different customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA

  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience leading go-to-market for consumer software or hardware product launches

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
